After obtaining a
Bachelor in Applied Language Studies (Dutch, English and Spanish), I graduated
from Ghent University with a Master’s degree in Translation (Dutch, English and
During the final years of my secondary
education I opted for Tourism studies, since I wanted to achieve more knowledge
on the subjects of languages and culture. I acquired a certain amount of
knowledge which allowed me to broaden my perspective in terms of culture and touristic
information; useful information I would later use as an advantage during my
professional life as a translator for important clients within the touristic
sector. Nevertheless, I quickly realized that it would not bring me the desired
linguistic knowledge and expertise. At that moment I decided I would study
languages at university.
The choice for
English and Spanish was a given, since I had been fascinated by and passionate
about both languages since I was very young.
During my final
year at university, I took an internship at No Problem!, where I was offered my
first job. After one year I decided I wanted to do something else, something more; I wanted to
be able to attract my own clients, do even more translations and work for my
own business. And that’s exactly what I did.
So in August 2015,
I started my business, Translation Solutions, and from January 2016 on I became
